  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

  1. Heat a large pan or wok over high heat. Pour in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and swirl the pan to coat the bottom evenly.

How long does spicy steak rice last in the fridge?

Spicy steak rice can typically be stored in the fridge for up to four days after cooking. It is important to ensure that the rice and steak are stored in separate, airtight containers to maintain their freshness. When reheating, it is recommended to heat the rice and steak separately to prevent the steak from becoming overcooked or dried out. To extend the shelf life of the dish, you can also consider freezing it for up to three months. However, note that the texture of the rice may change slightly after being frozen and reheated. Always use your best judgement and discard any leftovers that appear to have spoiled or have an unusual odor.

Low calorie spicy steak rice recipe substitutions

To make this Spicy Steak Rice recipe lower in calories, you could make the following substitutions:1. Use a leaner cut of beef, such as sirloin or top round, instead of flank steak. This will reduce the amount of fat and calories in the dish.2. Use brown rice instead of white rice. Brown rice is higher in fiber and nutrients, making it a healthier choice.3. Use less vegetable oil. You can reduce the amount of oil used in the recipe by half or substitute it with a non-stick cooking spray.4. Reduce the amount of salt in the recipe or omit it altogether. Instead, you can use herbs and spices such as garlic, black pepper, and ginger to add flavor.5. Use non-starchy vegetables such as broccoli, zucchini, or cauliflower to replace or reduce the amount of rice in the recipe. This will increase the nutrient density of the dish and help lower the calorie content. Overall, making these substitutions will make the recipe healthier and lower in calories while still maintaining its delicious flavor.

What to serve with a spicy steak rice?

There are various options to serve with spicy steak rice depending on personal preference and ingredients available. One option is to serve some steamed or stir-fried vegetables on the side such as broccoli, bell peppers, carrots, and onions to balance out the spicy kick and add more nutrients to the meal. A light and refreshing salad with a tangy dressing can also work well. Alternatively, some roasted or mashed potatoes can be served to complement the steak and provide a filling carbohydrate source. Adding some fresh herbs like parsley, basil or coriander could bring a new dimensions of taste and nutrition to the dish.

Whats the best sauce for a spicy steak rice?

The best sauce for spicy steak rice would depend on personal preference, but a good option is chimichurri sauce. The mixture of fresh parsley, garlic, vinegar, and olive oil gives a tangy and herbaceous flavor that complements the bold spices of the spicy steak and adds a refreshing contrast to the rich rice. Plus, chimichurri sauce is easy to make and can be prepared ahead of time, making it a convenient and flavorful choice for any meal.

Spicy steak rice health benefits

The health benefits of spicy steak rice depend on the ingredients used in the recipe. If the dish is made with lean cuts of steak, brown rice, and fresh vegetables like bell peppers and onions, it could be a great source of protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Spicy ingredients like chili peppers can also boost metabolism and improve digestion, but should be consumed in moderation for those with sensitive stomachs. However, if the recipe includes high amounts of saturated fats, sodium, or added sugars, it could be detrimental to overall health. As an alternative, I suggest a recipe of baked salmon with quinoa and roasted vegetables. It’s packed with heart-healthy omega-3s, fiber, and antioxidants from the vegetables.
