Low calorie indian shrimp rice recipe substitutions

To make the Indian Shrimp Rice recipe lower in calories, a few substitutions can be made. First, instead of using ghee or butter, a low-calorie cooking spray or a small amount of olive oil can be used. Second, the amount of shrimp can be reduced and replaced with vegetables such as bell peppers, zucchini, or carrots. Third, brown rice can be used instead of basmati rice to increase fiber and reduce calories. Finally, instead of using frozen peas, fresh spinach can be wilted into the dish, providing more nutrients and fewer calories. Overall, these substitutions can make the Indian Shrimp Rice dish a healthier and lower calorie option.

What to serve with a indian shrimp rice?

Indian shrimp rice is already a flavorful dish on its own, but it can be paired with a few additional side dishes to make a complete meal. One option is to serve it with a simple cucumber and tomato salad dressed with lemon juice and salt. The fresh flavors and crunch of the vegetables will balance out the spiciness of the shrimp rice. Another option is to make a side of spiced roasted vegetables such as cauliflower, bell peppers, and onions. This will add some additional depth to the meal while still complementing the flavors of the shrimp rice. Serving with a cool cucumber raita and some piping hot naan bread will complete the meal.

Whats the best sauce for a indian shrimp rice?

The best sauce for Indian shrimp rice is a coconut curry sauce. As rice and shrimp are mild in flavor, the creamy and slightly sweet flavor of the coconut compliments them very well. The sauce can be made by sautéing onions, garlic, ginger, and spices in oil and then adding coconut milk, tomato sauce, and some vegetable stock. Simmer the mixture until it thickens slightly, and then add the cooked shrimp to it. Drizzle the sauce over the rice and shrimp mixture, and serve with some fresh cilantro on top for extra flavor. Overall, this sauce is a perfect match for Indian shrimp rice due to its rich texture and exotic flavors.

Indian shrimp rice health benefits

Indian shrimp rice can be a healthy and tasty meal option as it is a high-protein dish that contains essential omega-3 fatty acids from the shrimp. Additionally, the spices commonly used in Indian cuisine such as turmeric, cumin and coriander have anti-inflammatory properties and can aid in digestion. However, it is important to watch portion sizes as this dish can be high in carbohydrates from the rice. For a healthier option, you can consider making a shrimp stir-fry with lots of vegetables such as broccoli, bell peppers and carrots. This dish provides a plethora of vitamins and minerals and can be cooked with minimal oil for a lower calorie count.
