  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.

How long does spicy mahi-mahi rice last in the fridge?

Cooked spicy mahi-mahi rice can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days. It is important to store the rice in an airtight container to prevent bacteria growth and spoilage. To reheat, microwave the rice covered with a damp paper towel for a minute or two. If the rice appears dry, sprinkle a little water over the top before reheating. It is important to note that rice can become a breeding ground for bacteria, so it is advisable to consume it within a few days of cooking and avoid leaving it out at room temperature for too long.

Low calorie spicy mahi-mahi rice recipe substitutions

To make this recipe lower calorie, a few substitutions can be made. Firstly, replace white rice with brown rice or quinoa, which have more fiber and fewer calories. Secondly, replace the mahi-mahi with a leaner fish such as cod or tilapia. Thirdly, reduce the amount of olive oil used to cook the vegetables and fish by half or use non-stick cooking spray instead. Fourthly, reduce the amount of salt used and avoid adding any additional salt. Finally, use a low-sodium vegetable broth or water instead of water to cook the rice, as it will add flavor without any extra calories. Following these substitutions will make this recipe more nutritious while still retaining its great taste.

What to serve with a spicy mahi-mahi rice?

Spicy mahi-mahi rice pairs well with a variety of sides. Vegetables such as roasted or grilled asparagus, sautéed spinach, or a mixed green salad with a citrus vinaigrette are excellent options. For a heartier meal, roasted sweet potatoes or black beans with diced tomatoes and corn also add great flavor. Coconut milk-based curries or a cauliflower mash also complement the spicy flavors of the mahi-mahi rice dish.

Whats the best sauce for a spicy mahi-mahi rice?

For spicy mahi-mahi rice, a delicious sauce to pair with it would be a cilantro lime sauce. To make this sauce, chop up fresh cilantro and mix it in a bowl with lime juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Gradually add in olive oil and whisk the ingredients together until it becomes a smooth consistency. The tangy lime juice pairs perfectly with the spicy mahi-mahi and the fresh cilantro adds a touch of herbaceousness to the dish. Pour the sauce over the rice and fish to add an extra layer of flavor to the dish.

Spicy mahi-mahi rice health benefits

Spicy mahi-mahi rice can have several health benefits. Mahi-mahi is a lean source of protein that contains essential amino acids and vitamins like B12 and B6. The spices used in the dish, such as turmeric and cumin, are known to have anti-inflammatory properties and can aid in digestion. The fiber content in the brown rice used in the recipe can also help regulate blood sugar levels and promote digestive health. However, it’s important to note that the overall health benefits depend on the specific recipe’s ingredients and preparation method. If you are looking for a different recipe, I would recommend a grilled salmon with roasted vegetables and quinoa. Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for heart health, while quinoa is a good source of fiber and essential nutrients like magnesium and iron. Additionally, roasting vegetables helps preserve their nutrients while minimizing the use of added fats.
