Thai sausage rice can be stored in the fridge after cooking for up to 3-4 days. It is important to store it in an airtight container to prevent contamination and to keep it in the deepest part of the fridge to maintain an appropriate temperature. If the sausage rice has been stored for longer than 4 days, then it should be discarded to avoid any risk of foodborne illness.

Low calorie thai sausage rice recipe substitutions

To make this recipe lower in calories, a few substitutions can be made. First, instead of using jasmine rice, which is high in calories and carbohydrates, we can switch to cauliflower rice, which has less than half the calories and carbs of jasmine rice. Secondly, for the Thai sausage, we can switch to chicken or turkey sausage, which is lower in fat and calories compared to pork sausage. Additionally, instead of using vegetable oil, we can use a calorie-free cooking spray or oil spray to reduce the calorie content. Overall, making these substitutions will make the dish lower in calories and more suitable for those who are watching their caloric intake.

What to serve with a thai sausage rice?

Thai sausage rice is a flavorful and filling dish that can be complemented with some tasty sides. One great option is to serve it with a refreshing cucumber salad, made simply with sliced cucumbers, red onion, and a tangy lime dressing. Another great accompaniment is stir-fried vegetables like bok choy or broccoli, cooked until they are tender but still a bit crunchy. For added flavor and crunch, you can also sprinkle some chopped peanuts or cashews over the top of the dish. Whatever sides you choose, be sure to enjoy this delicious and satisfying Thai-inspired meal.

Whats the best sauce for a thai sausage rice?

The best sauce for Thai sausage rice is Nam Jim Jaew, a spicy and sour dipping sauce made with fish sauce, lime juice, sugar, chili flakes, and garlic. This sauce perfectly complements the spicy and savory flavors of the Thai sausage and rice, adding a burst of tanginess and heat to the dish. It is also versatile and can be used as a dipping sauce for grilled meats, vegetables, or as a salad dressing. Its strong flavor and aroma make it a popular condiment in Thai cuisine that can quickly elevate the flavor profile of any dish.

Thai sausage rice health benefits

Thai sausage rice offers some health benefits due to the ingredients used in the dish. The sausage provides a source of protein, which is necessary for building and repairing tissues in the body. The addition of vegetables like bell peppers and onions provides fiber and vitamins, which can improve digestion and overall health. However, it is important to note that traditional Thai sausage rice may also contain high levels of sodium, which can be detrimental to individuals with high blood pressure or heart disease. Therefore, if a healthier alternative is needed, I would recommend a vegetable stir-fry with brown rice. This dish allows for a variety of colorful vegetables to be incorporated, providing essential vitamins and minerals without the added sodium from sausage. Brown rice is a healthier grain alternative to white rice, as it contains more fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Additionally, this dish can be seasoned with herbs and spices for added flavor without high levels of sodium.
